Boot open light stays on the alerts on dash but boot is closed
The boot open sensor light stays on on the dash and I can't figure out how to get it off as the boot is closed and working properly. Any ideas ?

Welcome to the forums. Unfortunately I can't provide advise since I have no idea what model or year Jaguar you have. If you use the User CP you can add the information to your signature and it will always be available.
As you have also posted another Intyro, I've moved your question from New Member Area - Intro a MUST to S-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

I would have that problem occasionally on both the 05 and the 03 if I was mending something in the boot and tried to hang my trouble light on the Hostage-Release T-handle. It was inevitably heavy enough to pull the lanyard, and after buttoning everything up, I'd have the indicator even though the bootlid was well closed. A couple openings/closings (slammings?) with a few joggles of the lanyard in-between has always mended it. Haven't had the problem since the hook broke off my trouble-light.
It's probably your hinge-wiring or switch as mentioned above, but if you have reason to believe someone/something had pulled the lanyard, may be worth a try to futz about with it.

Now the problem is I cannot fine the darn hostage lease T handle. Does the 01 S Type have one and if so where is it , just can t find it ?
