Default Borla Exhaust Installed

After a very long two week wait, my new exhaust components have finally been installed. Tim's Custom Exhaust in Coon Rapids, MN did a fantastic job, and I have the exact sound I have been looking for.

I replaced center resonator with dual in/out Borla exhaust (with internal x pipe), to straight piping out the back in place of two stock rear muffler boxes. 2.25" stock piping size maintained throughout.

Below are the YouTube links of two drive-bys.

Enjoy, and feel free to ask any questions!

Just to make sure I read this right. You have the stock cats then the Borla dual in/out with internal x-pipe then out to the tailpipes with no mufflers. Dig that sound. Any drone at all??

That is correct. Cats will probably be the next thing to be changed out in the performance department, but I will probably hold off until at least 100k on the clock.

I haven't had much highway driving at a steady speed since I've had the exhaust installed (as I am sure you can imagine), but I do detect a slight amount of drone. Not enough that it would bother most people, I would think, but enough to be noticeable. But I do have over sensitive hearing as it is, since I typically listen to my music in the car at volume setting 5-6, so it may just be me. Oh well, that's why I have the Buick for a crypt silent daily driver and the Jag for my fun car!

I probably wouldnt mind the slight drone then. I'm deaf as a doorknob. I have to have my radio on 12 just to hear it. LOL. I may do that as an x-pipe instead of a regular x-pipe when I can actually get around to doing my exhaust. Its at the top of the list for things to do to the STR but the STR list is far down my overall life list at the moment. I'll be watching this thread as I'm curious if your sound changes any with the cats.

Dory, very nice sound. Hi-flow cats will definitely make her louder, so have a backup plan to quiet her down i.e. mufflers before the rear axle or rear boxes, or both? Otherwise, I felt a twinge watching her rumble on Youtube.
