Default Brake job – 4.2, non R in Canada

OK – so it’s time to do the brakes…and I’m looking for some advise on the parts to use and costs in Canada, for a non-R-type.. of course DIY..
I could not find a post that has it all – so maybe this will be it..(or I didn’t do good job of searching..)
So far here is what I have after reading posts and digging thru web:
- will get the tools from PartSource for free! ( Thanks Spitfire !!!)
- Thinking of using Akebono Euro pads (front approx. $100, rear -approx $76 from Brakewarehouse.com)
- Not sure on rotors… don’t want to use slotted or drilled - all that mater is that rotors are not easily warped, i.e good quality..
- Another dilemma – 320 mm or 300 mm rotors ??? how to verify this ???
Will appreciate any input on rotors and maybe other suggestions for pads, if someone has any good experience with other brands…
Thanks in advance

I used Raybestos rotors and ceramic pads on my '03 4.2 non-R. Very pleased with the products.

You might find that getting them on line is cheaper than buying local.

I would hope that vendors can run your VIN and sell the right rotors.

I think it's just about possible (but unlikely) that you have Brembos (365mm rotors) or the later calipers (355mm rotors). But 320 would be my guess.

I just measured mine with the wheels on there is a big enough difference between the various sizes to get an accurate result. Guessing probably wont work.
Did the non R cars ever get Brembos?

I think the non-R could have them as an option but I'm not sure.

+1 on measuring (or trust vendors to run your VIN - which should be fine).
