Smile brand spanking new S Type R Owner

Hello All! I'm a brand new Stype R owner as of today and I have a few questions I wanted to throw out there to see if I can get some help. I am not familiar with Jaguars at all so I'll be leaning on the forum for a few until I get myself familiar.

I have a couple of questions to ask so I'll just throw them out there.

1. Bluetooth?!: I have a touch screen premium sound system, I have phone button on my my dash and steering wheel. When I attempt to use the phone option a message comes up saying "phone not fitted". After reading a few posts I am guessing just because I have the buttons doesn't mean I have the phone modules and will have to purchase the BT module to sync/use my phone?

2. I have just over 100k on my Jag and I am not familiar with the history. Is there anything you can suggest I check or have done to the vehicle to troubleshoot/keep it running smoothly?

3. Any upgrades I can start with for basic S type 101 mods that will make a big difference?

Muchas gracias for any help!

Continuing to search this forum prior to posting questions is your best bet for getting responses and good information. Aside from your posting title, to get responses that are on-point you should create a signature that states your vehicle model and year. It was wise to include the current mileage (100K+) when asking maintenance questions.

Item 1) You are on the mark, you very likely will need to purchase a blue tooth module from dealer or the aftermarket (search).
Item 2) If possible, ask the previous owner(s) for mnt. records and what shop they used. Make a visit to (or call) the past the dealer or shop and get any past information you can regarding what has already been done.
Item 3) Use the forum search tool and you will see the many opinions and dyno results on regarding pulley swaps, exhaust system revisions and air intake systems. I have not seen any dramatic power increases aside from reading about full super charger swap from the Eaton M112 to a Twin Screw. I am looking into Nitrous but taking baby steps as I don't want to have to rebuild after a catastrophic engine failure.

If you are local, meet me at MIR this Sunday. I think I've raced only once this Fall.

Welcome! The most obvious place to start is to attend to regular maintenance and get things running as Jaguar intended. If you are not able to leave her alone after that, there are a few mods that yeild modest increases for modest cash outlay.
As stated above, read, read, read.

ps. post pics!!!

Welcome! Do as the above say...read threads and ask before doing anything. 100k miles? Then purchase a comprehensive extended warranty ($150/month). Mods? We have so much to talk about grasshopper....
