I accidently broke the hinge on my ashtray in my 2000 S-type the other day. The 2 little hinges that poke up from the ashtray are broken on both sides. Do anybody know a quick fix for this? I know I have to take my centre console apart to get at it, but is it easy to separate the ashtray from the console? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Or does anybody know where I can get a replacement for cheap? I can't find any on eBay or other part sites. Thanks

 

Happen to ours a while ago....have not tried that hard but was unable to locate one either. We also just had the hinge for our driver side sun visor break. Sorry this doesn't help your situation but sometimes it's good to know if a problem is common. I have a feeling these are common wear parts.

 

Try Car-Part.com , this is a site that lists used parts all over America. Even if they don't list the exact part you can call around to yards that have something close and see if they can pull it from the car for you. Had lots of success on here. Maybe it will help.

 

This is for the 3.0 2K S-type:
If the ash tray door is fine, then you just need to replace the ashtray housing (the part that fits in the center console and the removable part of the ashtray fits in). It very cheap. The list price is only $10.95. The part number is XR853089. So you should be able to get at at any Jaguar dealer.
