Cant open my S Type
Hello to all, I'm new in this group. I got a 2004 S Type 4.2 V8. Lovely car!
It has 240000 kms and I had some issues with the alarm that started going on anytime. I figured that after taking out the horn relay it would stop all this noise. I will have to take to the local electrician.
The car use to be parked at a garage where I would leave it open and unlocked.
Last week I brought it to another garage and locked it. Last night I tried to open it up with the remote and it didn't open, then I tried with the second key and nothing! I put the key on the driver's door but it doesn't turn.
I cant get in the car, any suggestion ? Did anyone have some issue like this?
Thanks for your help.

Jaguar addressed this issue decades ago.
There is a feature in WDS/IDS called LAST ALARM ACTIVATION that will describe the body opening switch that set off the alarm.(which door/boot lid or bonnet)

I opened the trunk with the key and gave a boost with the booster. It flashed and I managed to open the car with the remote, the alarm started honking and I turned the key to start the car. It looked like Christmas lights on the dashboard. Saying problems with gearbox (although I had it serviced too month ago). Then I let run for 15 minutes and turned it off. Then stared again the engine and all errors where gone! Now it's time to take it to the electrician for a good checkup.
Thanks for your help and patience
You got very lucky!!
Now get that key out and work it in the drivers door lock until it frees up. Not sure what they recommend for lock lube these days? Powdered Graphite was one and they do have lots of different spray cans for locks. They all stop working because of lack of use.
Same with the trunk key but yours is working at least.
Up to you but I would focus on the battery before taking it in. What does the battery read after the car has sat all night?
How old is the current battery? Connections clean and tight?
A new battery might just fix it all.
