Carbon Fiber parts
I was wondering since Im cutting weight from my car I have a company that is willing to make replacement carbon fiber parts for our cars. I am currently getting quotes for hood, trunk and fenders. I am doing this for weight reasons since I want my car to go faster but the Jag is so heavy.
I am very interested! I would like a carbon fiber hood but in the 05 facelift version.....So that way it will work with the Mina Gallery body kit! I am also would be interested int eh fenders if priced right......Is it real 2x2 carbon fiber or hydro carbon?
I am with you on this one. Great idea and would be very interested.

no response yet, if no response I plan on calling them and letting them know that I can send them my parts if need be. Im pretty sure I can also pic some up cheap parts somewhere, so I can still drive the car. Ricer? NASA used this stuff first. Weight reduction is not only for speed but also gas mileage for other people not interested in the go factor. My target weight with me in it is 3200lbs so if you have a 500hp car that about 6.4lbs/1hp. thats in the Ferrari ratio. weight with me is about 4150. So Im going in a diet to loose 20lbs, and the rest is on the car.
By the way my rims although bigger by an inch came out weighing a total of 25 lbs less than my stock. Springs where the same weight as oem. ported about 1 lbs of shavings from supercharger, intake elbow, and snout and removed most plastic stuff. I am looking also for lightweight windows that still look stock and can be tinted, maybe Lexan. Side mirrors are going to be replaced with GT mirrors and all the electrical for them removed. Slowly but surely i will get there. Seats will be replaced with carbon fiber seats that come in at about 60 lbs each with bracket. Headers although providing better performance stainless steel headers weigh less than oem exhaust manifolds. Sunroof will be carbon fiber as well.

Yeah I know its far but if I dont aim high. its pretty easy to stripp the first 100 lbs from car but after that its pretty much stripping car of additional stuff you dont need. For example rear park assist.
You dont need, nav, radio, leather seats, back seats, pass. seat, carpet, a/c, power steering, p/l, p/w........
But if you want you could just buy a vette and be at the weight/hp goal and stuff a bigger motor w/ a supercharger on it and be like me

Thanks,

I've done super speed. My 1972 Vette has a Rodek 502 with 750HP and 850ft/lbs of torque. I don't need another 9 second car.
I do, however, want to surprise a few M5s while staying comfortable on my long drives...
