Question Click & Clack Electrical issue .....

I own a 2001 S Type 4.0 V8.

Strangest incident earlier this week - I used the car late, came home parked the car in my driveway and am absolutely certain it was fully closed and locked.
The next morning I came down mid-morning, all four windows were fully down, the roof was wide open and the car was unlocked. No one else has keys - I cannot figure out what caused this - some kind of short, maybe??

Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas how this could have occurred?

If you live fairly close to the car that could be the "global open" (press and hold the fob's unlock button). If so, either it was stuck down or fob may be faulty.

Thumbs up Click & Clack

Hello JagV8 ..... btw Click & Clack is a reference to the Car Guys, Tom & Ray Magliazzi, who have a radio show on US NPR (public radio) and offer solutions to weird car problems Car Talk .
Much appreciate your input - tx, rd

Yes. This has been reported multiple times. The global open has been activated. Most likely from an accidental push of the button on the FOB.

Perhaps similar to a Butt dialed phone call!!

We're being sooo nice in not saying it's an Owner problem rather than car one LOL

Check the trunk for squatters. I had a 1979 Chevrolet Suburban. Left it for a few months. Someone moved in for some time...left me some cans of beans.

Cool

Luv your suggestion, Doc .... it had occurred to me it may be that sexy lady with the English accent who guides me around the Bay Area!

And V8 ... have no doubts it is most likely operator error, although I'm trying to figure how I held that button down for so long. I no longer question Jag electrics since they switched from Lucas, Prince of Darkness.

Moreover, I rarely doubt the vehicle ..... I have ancient history with Jaguar - my dad supplied the veneer to Freddie Gardner in Coventry in the early and mid-60's.
