No code is needed

Enter any code 3 times so that the display shows "PLEASE WAIT"

Simultaneously press ">>" , "PTY" and "A.MEM" for 2 or 3 seconds and the radio will turn on.

You can also go through the jaguar dealers and they can supply you with the original code, but they have been known to charge £20 for this service.

So when is a code needed or not needed? I disconnected my battery on my '06 STR last week and touched the leads together to do a hard reset to get the modules back to factory settings and I didnt need a code once it was all back together.

The radio on my North American version of the 2003 S-type requires a code. There is a code card in the owner's packet of documentation.

I suspect that the work-around "short cut" that Mellow posted would do just as well though.

I've heard that a small number of cars were in effect hurriedly shipped like that. Makes you wonder!

Mine is a very early production X202, so that may well be the case. Kind of harkens back to the days when Sir William Lyons would modify existing stock RHD cars to LHD in order to meet demand...
