confused??
Hey guys i need some help. My wife has an 05 stype. She was driving home from work today when she was making a turn and the car just died on her. Engine died but there was still power. I just checked it out and i tried to start the car, but it wont start. It trys to turn over but it wont start. Checked and tried to jump the battery but did not work. I am positive that the battery is good. Lights and radio work fine. So I think its the starter but why would the car die when she was driving. Any thoughts??
If the engine turns over when you hit the key, it's not the starter. Guessing at causes without any basic troubleshooting rarely gets very far.
Possible security system shutdown? What is the red light in the middle of the defroster panel doing? Solid red or flashing? Key on and while cranking.
Strange way for a fuel pump to fail?? They mainly just slowly get weaker but it does highlight something to check. First check to see if you have fuel pressure at your Schrader valve.
Are you sure the inertia switch has not been tripped? Reset it anyway, it's on the driver’s side interior foot well. There is a small cutout so you can access the red reset button. I have seen them tripped because of a big bump or rough road.
