Default Control Arms and Tie Rods?

So my tech said my 28k mile 07 needs upper ***** and outer tie rods from decayed boots. Seems incredible that this could happen in under 28 miles regardless of age. A FL car in FL so no road salt and fairly decent roads.

I have always head a cluck since about 12miles in front under hard cornering and see that there's a TBI on a not fully torqued but on the tie rods(if I recall correctly). Could it just be a loose nut(like many people that walk through our shop)?

PArts on fleabay are cheap 124 for the whole set. Still seems amazing that these can wear in under 30k...

For want of a more specific term, "rubber" bits decay with time as well as mileage. Your car is now 11-12 years old and time will take its toll. If you are in a coastal area of FL, with decayed boots, the salt air can have an adverse effect on the unprotected joints.

Yep, that's the case here along with the crusty sunroof seal.

Any idea is any Ebay sellers have a decent quality replacement? This isn't a piece to go cheezy on.

I used the Ebay ball joint boots described in this thread. $6 fix saved hundreds of $$. They come from Bulgaria - took about 2-1/2 weeks to arrive in California.

Just my 10 bobs worth.
Spend plenty of time searching online for suspension parts until you get the best deal.
Not just on ebay either.
I have just located the front lower control arms which the shocks bolt onto for £90 each (pattern inc bushes) from a Jaguar specialist.
Cost from Jaguar dealer is £600 each, best ebay price is £140 each.

Jaguar must be siting on a lot of unsold parts at those prices.
