Is cracked vertical link a typical problem for 2000 s-type?
Hello,
My car is a 2000 s-type V8 owned since new by me. It has 40K miles on it. Today while replacing both front rotors for the first time, I notice spider web hair line cracks (not sure if crack or casting marks) on both left and right vertical links (the part where the wheel bearing, wheel studs and rotors attached to).
I think the two vertical links were made out of aluminum. Could you please let me know if cracked vertical links a typical problem of this car?
THank you very much!

I think they are stress fractures of the outer layer, about 1 mm deep. Though why there is an outer layer for a cast aluminum?
Many thanks.

PMs to techs are a bad idea as history shows that techs tend to abandon the site due to being overwhelmed
webbeing, I'ts likely a good idea for us to heed to jagv8's advice. BRUTAL frequently monitors the forums threads...He'll be here.
