Default Cylinder one code on the obdII

Cylinder one misfire code on 2006 jaguar s-type 3.0 53,000 miles. Should i replace the coil and spark. Car runs fine but it came on after, i punched it last night. I stopped the car and shut it down, it went into performance shutdown mode. When I started the car back up it was fine but the check engine light was still on, of course. The car has run fine today but, i am still a little nervous about it. I have been some what gentle with it.

Always best to post the actual codes rather than descriptions.

For a misfire, I usually swap coil positions and see if the code changes to the new location code before assuming a defective coil.

Good advice!
Swap the coil and post the actual code.
It does help.

Number one is under the manifold so replacement might be worth thinking about after a bit more investigation.
