I wouldn't let a dealer wash my car, much less work on it. Find an independent specialist and let them flush and refill.

I did. The deal cost me about $400.00 including the filter and the connector assembly. I used a Mercon based replacement fluid. I have about 25,000 miles on the trans change and it is just fine.

I don't give two cat's claws about Jaguar's recommended fluid. It's not needed.

I have bought my filter and gaskets set for mine... called a "jaguar specialist" who said they will do it but only flush it with oil.. not power wash it...

they quoted me 95£ plus vat..

about 160 usd

anyway I got the part cheaply anyway..... they are not expensive.... so mine will be getting done soon.. watch this space.... ps its only a precaution. Its done 109k... nearly 110 and I think that qualifys it for a life.. dont you.

Yours is a very different, much simpler (OK, cruder!) trans. And hasn't got rip-off pricing for parts....

He asks about an 05. It has the ZF 6HP26. Yours does not. I doubt there are any trans parts in common. Even the oil is utterly different.
