Is it possible to cancel the drive away door locking 'feature' without dealer intervention? 2002 model.

yes , but you still need the dealer tools . you can download the software and buy an interface if you like , but its not cheep.
you could look for a jaguar independent near you ?

 

If you don't mind a drive to Laverton, Victoria it can be done!

 

Try the following.

This may work to deactivate the auto locking:

Turn on the ignition so all the dash lights come on but do not start the engine.
Lock the door using the button on the door handle and then unlock the door 3 times. (But do not open the door.)
Turn off the ignition.
Lock the door using the button on the door handle and then unlock the door 3 times. (But do not open the door.)
Turn on the ignition but do not start the engine and you should hear a beep.
Lock the door then unlock it, once only this time, and you should hear a final beep.

The feature should remain deactivated until you repeat the procedure above to reactivate it again.
