Does the coolant fluid need to be flushed? Help!!!!
I want to change out the thermostat on my 2000 s type and I wanted to know if the coolant fluid needs to be flushed or bleed after changing the thermostat?
Yes. You are WAY over do!! I would very seriously look at replacing every hose on the car. Your car is 12 years and 167K miles old. All the rubber is shot.
How does your top tank look? If full of cracks change it out because it will fail and leak with time.

To answer your questions... yes on coolant flush and yes on coolant bleed. Look into upgrading the plastic crap thermostat housing with the aluminum upgrade - I guarantee you once you open up that thermostat housing you will find the plastic brittle and cracked for starters...
