Default door latch type

Does anyone know how to tell if i have deadlocking door latches or not...by vin it gives me those 2 choices and i would like to have the new one before i take the old one out....2006 s type r....taking the panel off and looking will work if i know what i am looking for

North American versions were not equipped with deadocking...

thank you...i was thinking no deadlocks after i sat in the car, double locked doors and was able to open the door with the interior handle...just was not positive on what deadlocked meant...i guess jaguar figured the US to be low crime or why bother....I think the latter

I think that deadlocking is when you lock the car and you can't open rear doors from inside, one of the front door as to be opened to let the rear passenger to go out. I didn't have deadlocking and i bought a front passenger latch with deadlocking. Now i have it. My car is a EU LHD.

No. Deadlocking means you can't open ANY of the doors without the key/fob.
