Default Double din radio

Double din radio

In the process of installing a double din unit with cd,nav etc into my pre facelift s-type. Fitted the metal cage from a kenwood which I got for free from the local radio shop just to get the position right where its going to sit.
On monday I ordered a cable adaptor to change the cable from jaguar to the standard adaptor which will fit whichever radio I decide to buy. The cable came today but it didnt fit .... so has anyone put a double din unit into a pre facelift s-type and if so what was the the make of cable adaptor and even better a model number for it.
Has anyone any opinions between pioneer and kenwood either the avic 310bt or 710bt from pioneer or from kenwood the 5240 bt.
Cheers

I'll try to help but first, what is a pre-facelift S-Type? I just finished an install of a Kenwood DNX 9140 into a 2002 S-type.

The half moon configuration is what I have in my 2002 S Sport except it is a left hand drive American. I had a Premium NA Audiophile sound system with a CD player and amplifiers. I lost the CD player but the CD/DVD, USB and Ipod capabilities make up for that. I am still trying to get some info on the subwoofer to get the rear amp connected.

I installed a Kenwood DNX 9140 and by not using the cage I was able to keep the coin tray. I also kept the cassette drawer. I slotted the lower fascia to install the usb leads. I took some pictures but I think they are too large to attach.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I'll try one of the Kenwood DNX 9140 displaying the Garmin screen.
