i wud look at coil number 6 maybe swap it with 5.. and it also may be that your lower pcv elbow maybe torn.. common on v6 stype.. you will hear a hissing .. and if you wiggle the upper pcv elbow the noise will change a little.

Yeah, those are coil- on- plug setups, and it may be a bad coil. Let's hope the plug wasn't fouled by an internal fault, which a compression test could shed some light on.

Before things get complicated, you may want to try cleaning the Mass Airflow Sensor with somr CRC brand MAF spray cleaner.

Wait awhile for some additional advie, FactoryJagTech, jag_genius and ibjags are all very knowledgeable on your model and generous with their insight.

be careful on these cars using that cleaner. I know that my x type has a plastic MAF tube, and that cleaner will melt it away and ruin it. Unless its aluminum, i would take the element out and clean it that way. Just be careful!

jagx,

Might you be referring to Throttle Body Cleaner? That stuff is way too aggressive.

I was referring to the cleaner, i am not sure if it is friendly to plastics or not, but most of that cleaner will harm plastics. You would know better than me, the only ones i have had to clean were aluminum tubes.

Use brake clean to find the leak. Wontdamage the plastic or rubber.

Where was the vacuum leak?
Swapping coils from 5 to 6 is to see if code comes back on different cylinder. It is on 6 now, if code comes back saying Cyl 5 misfire, then you know coil is bad.
