Default Error code help?

Hello,

My check engine light came on yesterday & took the car to autozone to have the codes read.

2003 Jaguar S-Type. 3.0 120k miles

Error codes:

P1647 & P1111

Both say "No dtc definition found. See service Manual"

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Brian

A little more research has yeilded this information, but I still am not sure what I need to do.

P1647 Linear O2 Sensor control chip (bank 2)

P1111 System Pass
or
P1111 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circut Intermittant high voltage

Thanks again for any advice,

Brian

The codes PDFs are on here and also in JTIS (on here, too). P1111 is meant to be there and is roughly system pass but do read the codes PDFs first several pages.

The PDF will show all the known causes for P1647 so study it and see what you can DIY. (Your current thing saying "chip" is wrong.)

Yes. You only have one error. The P1111 is always there and indicates your readiness monitors are all in the "ready" state. It's just for emissions so don't worry about it unless you are having problems passing as this should always be there.

P1647 - Linear O2 Sensor Control Chip (Bank 2 - Sensor 1) Driver's side - front sensor

Here are the other two options for the P1647 code.

The HO2 sensor 2/1 sensing circuit: short circuit to ground, short circuit to high voltage, open circuit.

ECM failure.

Make sure you get the correct sensor changed and a PCM reset - if your code comes back - the next step would be to check the O2 harness connection and wiring for any damage.

If the harness checks out then could possibly be a PCM failure (highly doubt it)

Rarely will the PCM fail but it does happen.
