I just had the car worked on and went to start it yesterday. The care would not start and I got this error message. "gearbox malfunction, limited performance".

I had a transmission sleeve worked on...

ideas?

 

Quite likely the battery is/was too flat and/or is failing. They often go flat when people work on the cars but leave the battery connected

Then you get all manner of weird faults.

But.... otherwise you have a possibly serious problem so get those who caused it to fix it!!

 

Yep. Likely a weak battery.
