What a morning driving to work!
1- transmission fault code comes on message center
2- check engine idiot light comes on
3- traction control idiot light comes on and traction contol fault comes on message center
I am ready to have car stolen and collect insurance!
Anyone have any ideas on this could it be mechanical, electrical or a combo of both?

To do all that it seems a simple ground fault of some sorts. I would spend $100 on a code reader and find out what is up.

I had a engine light (p1633 low KAM voltage) and tranny fault code this morning. Directly (or possibly) related to my engine detail job of a day or two ago.A little moisture got "somewhere" or w.h.y and I wiggled the fuses, put some dielectric fluid on the battery posts and cleared the codes.

Solved.

Since I've owned a Merkur/Cosworth I'm quite aware of aging cars with complex electrical systems. 9/10 it's something simple like a bad ground or connector and fiddling nets more issues than the actual problem.

Get a code reader (and fix it) or get to the dealer and you'll be fine.

Kaszam.....def electrical. Get the codes read. Also, do a battery disconnect for 5 minutes. See if things get better.

Also look for water in trunk floor.....or signs of water.

The check engine light went out on my way home Wednesday and has not come back on
But, the abs light and brake on light came on. So now I have the following
Traction control light on
ABS light on
Brake light on
Message center reads - Traction Control Fault
No water in trunk everything is dry as a bone. That is the one problem this
car has never had.
Have appt. to bring car in. My Mechanic thinks its electrical also.
Thanks guys I'll let you know what happened.
JESUS! a Camry, are you insane? Even a bad Jag is better than a Camry.

Sound slike a simple ABS wheel speed sensor is out. Might just be corroded or something. The traction control system runs off them too.

Should be cheap.

Well driving home last night more fun.
Speedometer stopped working and my shocks stopped working (CATS) drives worst than
a truck.
The car is parked until Tuesday when it goes in shop.
Is this all related to the same type of problem or do I have several thingd going on
at one time?

The car is back, needed rear calipers, rotors and pads and the ABS sensors all around. cost $1200.00 the car drives as it should and no more warning lights YEA!
FJT the disconnect of the battery did bring back the shocks and speedometer thanks for that info that one cost me $0.00

Im gonna say you could have gotten new ABS sensors and been just fine. Rear calipers...really, c'mon, how often do calipers fail? Me thinks the dealer talked you into some extra greenbacks for a brake job you could have done anywhere for $200.

Bottom line, if the codes are gone and you have control of your vehicle again, I guess you can take solice in that.

Any chance you can just do the caliper kit, I mean what fails?

I saw the rearrotors and they were chewed up and the piston on the caliper was not moving. Once in awhile as i was driving and coming to a stop I now know what the smell was but no noise. The brake light was on along with the abs and traction control fault. Everything is waorking fine now as it should be. I have been using this mechanic for all my cars for a long time, I trust him.
