Deep in Croatian countryside my e tank failed s type v8 not r. Used gorilla glue to fix that small top black pipe back on. Ok so far. Will get a new tank when I reach civilisation. Really though great car and lovely country. Long live jags.

Welcome to the forums Jules,

Your profile shows Location = PG (the ISO country code for Papua New Guinea). That's some drive to Croatia (HR).

Good luck on the journey back to civilisation.

Graham

Anti-freeze, plastic, and glue won't like each other for long. Get a new tank and don't skimp on it. The tanks under the cowl are a pain to change so plan on some time and some new plastice cown fittings. They break a lot.

I'm loathe to buy the same part as the little pipe is a weak point. Did you have any more troulble?

Hi You are right, the glue dissolves slowly and i've re-glued it twice. The little pipe is a poor design weak point, so I might seek an alternative.

They all fail way too early. I've never had one that didn't leak a little right from the start and I'm on my third. A very complex tank to do in aluminum or SS.

Surrender.
