I just finished a vacation of 11 days driving an new Ford Edge and I like the newer remote's range, a lot!

Does anyone have an idea about how one could go about getting & programming a much longer range version. The stock one with the folding key is lsick but patheticslly weak by comparison to current remotes.
I'm thinking only the remote would need updating? Not looking for a key include version.

 

Hold the jaguar remote up to the side temple of your head!
I am serious, try this it will give your remote a masive range boost!

All seriousness aside, here's a low tech idea you might be able to adapt to gain a little extra range with your existing remote:
