I have been getting warning messages about right rear light or right brake light. But the bulb works and replacing it didnt help. What is going on? Has anyone any ideas?

 

Mmmm. Very occasionally I get "Right brake lamp failed" and, lately, "Left repeater failed". They both go away again fairly quickly, and everything seems fine. It isn't annoying enough to prompt me to do a thorough investigation, though.

 

Loose contact, damaged wiring, poor connector, just get busy with a meter when it's failing.

 

Pull the bulb, clean and burnish the socket, replace the bulb, check for tight fit. That fixed our similar issue back in 2009. No similar problems since....

You have already checked to see that you are using the correct replacement bulb - right?

 

Thanks for the tips, its ok now with a new bulb and a cleanup. Strangely the warning light gave one more warning before it went out so I wonder if it waits to see before forgetting about a problem.
