Default Flashing DSC yellow light after Car Re-set

My brother re-set my S Type, by reading codes then re-setting to "as new"

Prior this I had no flashing lights at the time -

I now have the yellow flashing DSC light!
So surely a software induced error?

Will it clear or does it need a dealer to re-calibrate the system?

Needs the fault fixing.

Read codes using a dealer tool.

Try a "Hard Reset" then lt us know how that goes.

In the meantime don't forget the all important new member intro
That stops me getting all tetchy and it's the wrong time of year for that!

So - hard reset this morning - same, yellow flashing DSC light.

I read that you have too re-calibrate using Dealer software so may have to bite the bullet.

Don't recall anyone ever having this before but then generally no-one does what was done.

Load test the battery. Anything under 12.7 volts before start up is asking for trouble.

Resetting with an OBDII reader should not affect the DSC system as most OBDII scanners cannot access the DSC module, read/erase stored codes.

Or possibly - you have a true DSC fault.

Again, you will need to get the code(s) read, corrected and reset with a dealer level scanner/software.

Got an answer from a Jag mechanic - thought I'd share for others.

"The dsc has lost its calibration hence the flashing symbol.
It requires re calibration using IDS. The SDD will not do it as the software has been deleted."

You pay to have it checked at dealer?

No, his brother did it with a non-jag tool. Read the thread....
