Hello everyone! I haven't been able to solve this problem for a long time! I removed the driver door module, cleaned the contacts, re-soldered the module itself, but nothing helped.
The problem is this: I locked the car with the central locking system using the remote control, and when you come back half an hour or an hour later, the remote control doesn't work, so you open the car using the door lock.When you open the door, the alarm goes on, you insert the key into the ignition and everything is fine. And so on in a circle.Even if you don't lock the car and went, the central key won't work either. I looked at the diagram and saw if there was some other unit in the back right? Has anyone else had this happen? I'm sure I'm not the first.If i disconnect the battery terminal every time i leave, s-type won't forget the key.

 

It's not forgetting the key - which as you say still works. It's losing (or has fully lost?) the fob.

I've seen a few posts about it - Search may get you them - but don't recall the fix. Maybe fob battery or worn/dirty fob button(s)?

I use one on my 4.0 which sits for months at a time now that I hardly have time to enjoy it. Definitely a cool little device.
