Fuel Sending Unit -- 2007 4.2 S-Type
Has anyone changed out the fuel sending unit on their S-Type?
I am wondering how involved it is to do, and how long it might take.
Kind regards,

There's some discussion going in the X350 section on the same topic.

The pump/sender set up is similar in the S-Type and the X350.
I changed out the complete pumps in my XJR, probably took me 2 hours all up.
Don't forget you need the special tool to remove the lock nuts from the pumps https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...-pumps-130587/
I disassembled my old pumps to have a look, in order to remove the sender from the pump housing, I had to remove one hose as it was blocking the sender from sliding out of the housing.

You can download the JTIS Workshop Manual, which details the procedure for replacing the fuel pumps and the sending unit.
Navigate back to the "S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 ( X200 ) 1999 - 2008" main page and look for threads toward the top of the page that begin with the word "STICKY". One of those threads will be instructions for how to download & install JTIS. There are other good Sticky threads with which you should familiarize yourself too.
Good luck, Steve

That home made tool is what makes this forum great!
A guy said I am not paying big money to buy a special Jaguar tool that I will use only once or twice. Then he figured out what was needed to get the job done.
