Happy 75 Years Jaguar!!!!
The new XJ (and the XF) are awful reminders of how far Jaguar has fallen under Ian Callum. I will be riding and driving S-types for until there are no more.
They are the last Jags that looked like Jags.
The real anniversary of Jaguar is marked by the beginning of Swallow Sidecars in 1922. That is when Sir William Lyons got into the biz. Sir William was Jaguar. Jaguar will be 90 in 2012.

But if you drive the 470HP versions of both these cars you cannot help but be suitably impressed. They are wonderfull to drive. I hope they remain that way under long term use.
Perhaps a new body design in a few years will change your mind?

I also don't particularly like the new styling....... BUT Jaguar needs desperately to find a way to make money. Land Rover sells a LOT more vehicles than Jag and in effect appear to be carrying Jag financially. I guess Jag is trying new body styles as a way to try to sell more cars. (Whether it succeeds...)
I'm with you, Florida Jag. The new Jaguars look like a Lexus/Volvo/Infiniti/Buick hybrid to me. Even if they depreciate as fast as the gorgeous S-Type did, I can't see us purchasing one....
