Default Has anyone installed a double din in a 2001 s type

I want to install a double din dvd/gps unit in my 2001 jaguar s type. I found the wire harness that connects to the factory radio harness but cant find the mounting kit for the dash. Has anyone ever done this or know if its even possible? Thank you any help would be much appreciated.

As far as I've read you dont need a kit for a double din.... It should just fit, maybe just minor adjustments but should fit. I think they only make kits for the single dins

I have installed a Kenwood unit. There is nothing off the self to help you.

Basically the size was right but I needed to drill new holes to hold it in place and trimmed down the facade a bit to have better fit. It is definitely possible but needs some work. Even though it is not perfect fit for me, I doubt anyone not familiar with the car will notice. And it looks better than a casette player

Nice unit!!! How did you get the Jaguar emblem on it? Or is it just a photo?

It's the boot screen. I thought that is more appropriate than a Kenwood one.

The wiring that works for a 2001 maybe won't for an 03. Especially if you have the Premium sound system...

I have a 2001 s type with standard audio and want to upgrade to a double din unit. I tried the links above, but couldn't get anywhere. Does anybody have any suggestions? I would like bluetooth telephone and audio, and would like gps. I don't want to go backwards with the sound, and would like to get it a little better. Suggestions?

I know this is old as hell but I'm going to revive it cause I would like to know. I was told by crutchfield that a double din wouldn't fit because from font to back it gets narrower. Anybody else have any experience?

it fits with minor mods,
really easy.

Harness name CTSJG003.2 you need a lead cable too. Google for local suppliers
