Default Heater problems

I saw a thread or two that kind of discussed this issue, but not in its entirety.

My heat used to be scalding hot on Hi, but felt almost cool when I dropped the thermostat down to 85, which was odd to me. But now this morning, after letting her warm up for 20 mins, my heat is much cooler on Hi as well. If I set the fan to internal it get a little warmer but not by much.

I have a very small A/C compressor leak which I am getting replaced pretty soon. Could the issue be related?

Any help or tips would be much appreciated.

I recently had the same problem and will be doing my write-up on what I found, but for now see if you can remove the plug on the DCCV and see if you get heat.

Even if it seems the existing threads aren't identical, the same sorts of procedures will likely work or at the least provide more data.

I will try that this weekend. I wasn't quite sure if my issue was related to Gus' or not and figured a separate thread was necessary. I will try unplugging the dccv valve this weekend and see what happens. Thank you both.

The plug is a little strange. It is forward of the DCCV, on mine I had to slide the protective cover on the plug up to expose the latch to release the plug. Press the latch and the plug will come off.

I will try to get all the info up on my page. It is hard to do when I have been going up and down the road trying to get with the builder on my house.
