Default help please guys

I have just purchased another jag this time an stype v8 2002. When i collected it was fine although the seller did say it had previously developed a missfire which he solved with a couple of coil packs but about halfway through the 165 mile journey home it started to missfire and went into reduced power. I plugged my obd reader in and am now more confused than ever it came up with 14 faults they are PO 300 , PO 301 through to PO308 , P1313 , P1314, P1316 , P201 , PO327 and I cannot figure out what could cause all these faults the purchase has just about wiped out my funds so I am desperate to find out where to look as I cannot just keep spending on one thing after another through trial and error. thanks in advance Ian

Have your battery load tested. More than likely your going to need a new battery..

To read up, first PO -> P0 (a zero not oh). Second, P201 is missing a character.

I hope the V8 is a 4.2 not 4.0 as the latter is going to need vital work you really cannot afford.

The P0300-8 are to do with misfires. The P1313&14 are also, but so serious that the cats are being damaged. Cats are horribly expensive.

If you've a warranty - and you have if bought from any kind of car trader no matter what they claim - I'd take it back.

If it's the battery read up on here about the (vented, lead acid, etc) kind you'll need. The car has quite a smart charging system but needs the right kind of battery.

no unfortunately private sale but the battery could be an answer because there is no way that this battery is the right one for the car way too small

Good advice regarding battery charge. A proper, fully charged battery is imperative for these cars, as they have a huge amount of electrical and electronic gadgets, sensors and computers on board, all of which rely on your battery for proper performance. Having a fully charged battery is always the first step in trouble shooting these cars.

^+1. A dying battery or insufficient one will throw multiple "ghost" codes, and will lead you to throw a lot of parts into the car needlessly.

There are multiple threads in this forum concerning flat or weak batteries, and one of the symptoms is an avalanche of codes, thrown by seemingly unrelated systems.
