Default idler pulley ?

2001 S-type. 3l. Idler pulley blew apart and I am unable to locate another. It is located towards top, right of engine. Parts store seem to only carry a 90mm diameter pulley. The broken pulley is approx. 136mm diameter and approx. 30mm wide. Any ideas as to where I could find one or a part number ? I'm assuming that I have the name correct. Suggestions. Thanks

One of the idler pulleys is VIN specific. Per the SNG Barratt catalogue (which is available as a free download in the "stickies" section of the forum) the early idler pulley is as follows:

Idler Pulley
To VIN L86901, Part # XR816256

Idler Pulley
VIN L86902 to VIN M62935, Part # XR828449

Dowload the Barratt catalogue and take a look on page 11,

Thanks S-type owner. Any suggestions as to where to buy. I live in Ontario, Canada. A 2001 Lincoln LS power steering pulley seems to be the correct dimensions. Any guesses as to whether it may do the job ?

If the pulley is STEEL, just replace the ball bearing. Plastic pulley will require new pulley.

There are several sources:
Call SNG Barratt and they can set you up.
rockauto dot com (shows both pullies)
or as suggested you can remove and replace the bearing yourself. (if metal)

Sorry about the late update. I ended up replacing the bearing in the pulley. should have went that route from the start. The guy at the bearing shop knew what I needed with.one look. I guess it's a common bearing. Thanks everyone for your advice/assistance.

Hope this thread isn't too old. Do you happen to have the part number for the bearing? I'm looking to replace one myself, would like to pick up one locally before starting.
