Default Intake & Blower Pulley Question

Being new to the Jag world I am wondering about the available aftermarket parts.

I have seen many forum members with the Mafioso intake. What is the difference or preference over the Mina Intake?

Also, has the stock motor held up well with the addition of the smaller pulley and additional boost? Does the car adapt to this well without additional fuel?

There is a vast difference with the intakes.
mine uses the stock airbox and whines alot.

Mina is an open element setup.

No extra fuel needed for pulley.

The stock airbox is pretty well set up for good cold air intake - adding the Mafioso elbow streamlines the bend to the manifold side and eliminates the dead end extensions Jag designed for noise control. Plus it's well made, looks great, and the blower whine is glorious.

Open element in a very tight engine bay with a blower adding to the heat = suckin' hot air. Advise against that setup.

Thanks guys for the responses. I looked some past posts and saw that there were some different levels of the Mafioso, is that still the case? Also, any pictures of the pipe installed?
With the smaller pulley is there a noticeable enough increase to justify the expense?

Does a smaller pulley, "Mafioso" air intake elbow, and a full exhaust mod "justify the expense"? Well...Today a 2011 Dodge Charger SR8 "Hemi" (with an exhaust mod and who knows what else) achnowledged that I out-pulled him on the highway this early afternoon. Admittedly this was performed with a relatively "cool" intercooler...but it was done.

RE: Intake pics - the official group buy thread has a bunch of pics (search intake group buy). I have some pics of mine on page 9:

Have to defer to Mafioso as far as availability.

"No pulley for you for 16 weeks" (soup guy, seinfeld voice), Your warranty would be voided, I believe.

Chris X thanks for the pics and info. Looks like a quality piece. I will be on the look out for the next group purchase.

Joycesjag, 16 weeks will go by fast, so get your tools ready and I will bring the spirits !
