Default Jacking Points??

I own a pair of 3 ton hydraulic trolley jacks. Are there safe jacking points under the S where I can use these things?? I don't want to bend something expensive underneath while doing an oil change or rotating tires. Mine's an 06 4.2 model.

I had the same issue when jacking up my S-Type and I also like to use the jacking points so I made a wood block w/a slit in the middle to fit perfectly in the slot. I just slide the piece of wood in the slot and then put my jack under the wood and it's up in the air in seconds.

Ditto that comment about wood - wood is your friend when jacking up any vehicle. I also lay a piece of rubber across the wood block as an extra measure of protection. Jacked up my S-Type earlier this week for a tire rotation and didn't have an issue using this tried-and-true system.

Jacking with wood, am I in the right forum? Do you guys prefer hardwood or softwood when jacking?

Hey joycesjag,

From your recent posts I think you need to round up some of your buddies tonight and hit the strip clubs. Sounds like you're in dire need of a therapeutic session to see Jasmine, Jennifer, and Jade down at the local Pretty Palace....

Now that I'm over 60, I got the ones with the "quick up" feature as well.

John, you must have a look at my "thingy" post then. "If you experiance "quick ups" for more than a 4 hour period, PLEASE consult with your local Jaguar mechanic.

I saw it - needed a good laugh today. Unfortunately I doubt if any of the local Jag mechanics can figure out how to get it down.
