Default Jag mechanic in Carrollton, Texas area

My first post. . I have an 02 S 3.0 65k mi. I've had it for about 2 years and when it has needed work I've typically just taken it to my normal mechanic who is good and ASE cert. but not an expert on my car. I've also used g-tech in Richardson that is more familiar with Jags, but they are too far away, and I don't completely trust them.

If anyone lives in the Carrollton, N. Dallas area and can recommend a mechanic that I can build a relationship with that knows Jags well, I'm open to suggestions.

Welcome to the forum, skm. For me...it would be worth the drive out to see Motorcarman, a bit North of Boyd.

+1 if he's close enough (or even a bit far).

Read some of Bob's posts and see

If Richardson is too far then forget Decatur. Wise County is on another planet compared to the rest of Dallas and Denton Counties.

I guess I will continue to use local mechanic for the basic stuff and it is good to know Bob is in the area for more Jag specific problems or questions

JagMac off of 35 is a Jaguar Indy. From what I hear their reputation is great. He inspected my car prior to purchase and did some work for me afterwards. I was pleased.

Thanks, this is what I need. The reason I asked the question on this thread was because my heater would not blow hot. G tech thought it was a clogged heater core and he flushed it, and they changed the thermostat. Both may have been wrong, but neither fixed my problem. He somewhat dismissed the idea of the heater control valve when I suggested. Then I took it to my mechanic, and suggested the control valve, and sure enough that is what it is. I ordered the part on amazon and I'm going to take it back to be installed and hopefully it works. If it doesn't and more diagnosis is necessary then I want a Jag expert to fix it. Thanks to this forum it helped me understand that this is a common problem. I had no idea before, I wish I would have found you guys sooner.

LOL...so true, Bob! I forget the TV stations refer to "Our reporterette out in the FAR northern reaches of our viewing area..." when they want to film a bit of snow in the winter....
