Key Fob Reprogramming with IDS v118.
I now have two dead key fobs that I'm looking to replace.
Since I'd like to be prepared to deal with this scenario in the future, I'm contemplating getting a Mongoose cable and IDS, but I can't seem to find any straight answers.
Will the full version of IDS v118 allow me to reprogram the key fobs, or will a subscription still be required?
I was thinking that I'd be able to reprogram my own fobs using the Mongoose and the IDS v118, but I'm confused because some sites are suggesting that I'd still need to purchase the subscription to IDS on top of that anyway.
Any wisdom from the techs, or the DIYs that have gone this route?
Thanks

Edit, I also have an upper rad hose assembly I purchased in error I'm looking to get rid of, for anyone who might be interested:
It's the URO hose assembly, with the 'tank turret', but without the thermostat housing. Anyone who needs one, just say the word and I'll send it off to you on the cheap.
It's this one here:
To my knowledge, it will fit 2000-2003 MY to the mid-2003 VIN break.

The techs will probably have a subscription and anyway often don't post (they have a living to earn!). I'm not sure any non-tech's tried this on the 2003+ car. I think one of the members has done it OK on an early car but the security system changed so I'd be wary of believing it's the same. Might be, might not be is all I know.
I'd try it if I needed to
You don't need a subscription to use IDS up to an early v130 but that may be untrue for locks because some regions have laws requiring locks to be done via a kind of licencing system. (I don't know your laws well.)

I'm down the road in Brantford.
I was thinking of getting it just to have it handy; what is your opinion?
Is it worthwhile?
If not, I might just take you up on your offer, but it'll have to be when I get it back on the road again - I demolished the tank turret on top of the rad hose while I was doing the plugs / coils, so I'm waiting on parts.
I think it is worthwhile if you intend to have your Jaguar for a while. If you have a properly configured laptop I will load IDS v130 and data files for you--price a case of beer!

I'll get in touch via PM once I'm back on the road, assuming we're not snowed in by that then.
Thanks again!
