key gets hot in ignition switch

Default key gets hot in ignition switch

On my 2000 s-type 4.0 the key gets hot even on a 30 second turn on, also the switch can be pushed in with the finger about forth of an inch. It springs back out when pressure is released.

Can this be normal???

Sounds like something is shorting or the like. I'd attend to it urgently.

agreed , mine does not do that !

I believe there is a DIY here on how to remove and replace, I believe it has pictures to boot.

Default hot key cooled down ??

Csr has cured itself, have run it as before with a/c and rqdio on=key is cool as cucumber.
