Default Knock sensor location

Dear friends, have had an intermittent P 0328 code and restricted performance - I would like to replace the sensor on both backs - on the 2003 Supercharged S-type R - anyone know the scope of the job as in gotchas, gaskets and flat rate - ie time to replace ? Any thoughts here would be appreciated

Biggy - Are you using at least 91 octane gas? Personally, I always use 93 Octane - national brands or Costco.

The instructions for changing the knock sensors on a supercharged car start with "Remove the supercharger."

Basically, on a normally aspirated car its a 30 minute job to replace both knock sensors, on a supercharged car it takes all day.

I chose to relocate mine, rather than pull the supercharger for now. I figure that if I have to pull the supercharger in the future for new bearings or a rebuild, I'll put the sensor in the correct location at that time.

This is a somewhat controversial mod. See my thread here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...charged-93580/

O3 and up V8/4.2 require you to remove the upper intake manifold/plenum which is not a 30 minute job .
