Got a new balljoint for my s type. Went to fit it yesterday and turned out the balljoints on the front was loose do just tightened them up,balljoints themselves are fine and don't have any play in them.. So balljoints are fine,nice and tight,but the knocking noise from the front end is still there! Any ideas what a common problem for knocking noises on s types could be?

Also.fitted a new shocker and the NSR Is still squeaking when I go over a bump? It's obviously a bush gone but can't seem to see which one.. Any common bushes that go on the rear anyone know?

Not sure why it was loose but you want to check it again. The reason I say that is when it was loose it might have elongated the channel it is in that could prevent it from seating properly allowing it to come loose again.

 

The lower arm looks like it has been replaced as it had a date stamped on it as though it was from a breakers yard. I'm thinking when it was fitted the balljoint wasn't tightened up correctly! But within seconds it was knocking after being tightened.
