Default Leaper Theft Solution

Guys, had a thought as to how to prevent future leaper theft & would like feedback from others on forum. What if I substituted KEVLAR YARN for the wire/cable? BTW, are leapers secured to the car by the wire/cable? Thoughts, comments, suggestions eagerly sought! Am one of those guys who is not allowed to have tools, so...
