Using your hands/fingers, pry back on the top corner of the door frame by the roof, use a rubber or wooden block/shim to jam the crack open, slip a hooked wire or thin rod through the crack, hook onto the door lock mechanism right by the inner door handle/release, and give it a tug, grab your keys and turn off your alarm,

How"d the keys get locked in if in ignition? Thought the doors won't lock with keys in ignition?

Apparently it somehow can. I gave my car to the car wash once, and they accidentally locked the car with the keys in the ignition. Don't know how it happened though...

its happened to me to, keys in ignition, closed door, all doors locked.

I had a spare set i was able to get.

Any decent auto locksmith will be able to "pick" the lock if you don't want to go down the prising top of door open route

If the keys are in the car, is it possible to unlock the trunk and crawl in from there? It will be a tight fit in an STR, but may be doable. I understand there's a cord to pull on to let you push forward on the passenger side rear seat to gain access.
Going by memory....

I actually locked the keys in the trunk. Called a tow company. They got into the car but i cannot get into the trunk without the keys. So between the backseat is a plastic piece i had to kick in to get into the trunk. Only broke a little plastic tab. Not that big of a deal.

Couldn't you have pushed the trunk release button?

That's what I was thinking in my post. Even if the keys were in the front, wouldn't the proximity of key to trunk allow the signal to allow the trunk to open by pushing the button?
Isn't there another small indented area just to the left of the button that allows the trunk to open by using a small screwdriver or similiar??

Nope. Trunk button did not work. There was no power to the car. Guess its a special feature to the cars security. Like if someone broke into your car they cant get into the trunk.

That's why I stuff a rag in the trunk latch when I disconnect the battery. I am paranoid that the trunk will close and the key won't open it.

I lube the boot lock and test it whenever I fill the screen wash and check the oil
