Angry MAjor Bummer..Still have TPS/TB issue

So after all that work and the write up etc...in the past few days ive once again gotten bit by the limp mode with the same TPS code p0121. WHat a pita...

My guess now is that the TPS is probably just bad, after all it is 8 yrs old.. Although its been raining alot too...

On the side of the road I did disconnect it and blew into the connector and some moist spray came out so I was like HMMM..im praying thats the issue

I am going to do one last thing which is to seal the top of the connector with some rtv

Has anyone purchased the TPS...wondering a good resource.

On a side note...i got the Mina exhaust installed and aside from an issue with ill fitting clamps..it is a sick system. If anyone is familiar with Corsa xhausts....it reminds me of that.. which I had on my vette and my SS

Did you try spraying it down with Electrical Contact Spray to get the moisture out, try that or CRC Mass airflow cleaner spray both are excellent.

Good Luck!

oh yes...I always have cans of both...however

I found something very interesting.. I went out to unplug the sensor and the back of my hand got wet..right above the TPS slightly to the left of it attached to the underside of the cowl is this sort of padding and it was all wet. Its been raining for 2 days now so mMy guess is I have leakage between the windshield and the weather strip. Im going to seal that up along with the top of the TPS and see what happens.

It sounds like you may have found the problem moisture in the plugs is not a good thing. CRC makes a good contact cleaner that you can use. I cleaned mine and used a light application of CRC Dielectric grease to help with keeping the contacts clean. As for the TB if replacement is necessary you can get them online at http://www.jaytanindustriesinc.com I understand they stand behind the work. This is what I did on my xk8 P0121 code http://www.gusglikas.com/AutoRepTB.htm I hope this helps!

yep..i lways have crc maf and contact cleaner, and dialectric on hand. I just did a detailed write up on the TB removal cleaning and TPS cleaning and sealing..full of pics. the TB is fine. Its "possible" the TPS is bad. When I did the write up it was dry out and i did not notice any mositure. now that it has been raining, I clearly can see an issue, per my opening comments.
, I just sealed up the TPS connector completely with sensor safe rtv, and i also just siliconed where the windshield meets the weatherstrip all along the cowl . if this dont fix it then the TPS is bad.....

Doesnt the TPS have to be at a certain spot maybe its off. Maybe try finding the spec of where it should be placed then reset it. I noticed the grooves where it gets mounted so there is probably some sort of spec clearance it needs. Thats how crank position sensors and such are you just get a feeler guage to set then tighten. Not sure on the TPS on the Jag but something worth checking.
