Default Multiple misfires

Started the Jag (2005 S Type, 4.2L , VDP) on Saturday. Started okay, and after idling for 5 minutes suddenly began to run rough. Shutdown and restarted, but continued to idle rough. Pulled the following codes:

P0301
P0304
P1313
P1316
P0300
P0308

Any troubleshooting suggestions? I just purchased the Jag last month with 75K miles, and I have no idea if the plugs or coils have ever been replaced. But my assumption is that codes for multiple cylinders likely have a common cause other than plugs/coils ?
I've been chasing a evap emissions code fault for the last week that threw a check engine light, but didn't seem to affect the idle.

Thanks
-H

It is statistically improbable for multiple coil packs to fail at once. I would focus on a vacuum leak and the crankcase breather hose is the likely culprit.

Check the Battery. If 12.2v or lower, replace.
I have just had multiple misfire codes disappear after putting new battery in. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...pe-faq-123983/

Thanks for the quick response. I put a new Bosch battery in a few weeks ago and it didn't throw any codes.

Having some trouble finding the crankcase breather hose. Is it one of the hoses connected to the purge control canister?

Default Solved sort of?

Replaced gas cap , spark plugs and 2 ignition coils (1 & 8). Misfire codes have ceased.
Jag drove great for a day, then threw 3 codes and an occasional restricted performance message. I'll start a different thread for those.

Thanks for the help.

2005 S-Type 4.2 with multiple cylinder misfire codes P0300, 0301, 0303, 0305. Just changed the plugs and coils. The codes went away for a while but it's back. What else could it be?

Air leak?
Check fuel trims. See previous threads, there are dozens possibly a hundred...

Or blocked cat. Start with fuel trims...

Did you do a hard reset after you replaced the sparkplugs and the coilpacks? If the battery was still connected when you performed your work a hard reset may be in order.
