My s-type 2.7 twin turbo diesel engine blew up
Hi All
Six weeks ago my engine blew up.
I was on a good road and had just been overtaken by a brand new F-type. I put my foot down, of course, and within two seconds I felt a bang and saw clouds of blue smoke in my rear view mirror.
I stopped the car and awaited the recovery truck. At the garage we found two broken diesel injectors, two damaged pistons and two completely shattered valves, on adjacent cylinders.
I now have a new engine now but am worried that it may happen again.
I have had about five occasions in the last couple of years where the restricted performance message has come up and I have had to run the car at speeds above 40 mph to clear out the DPF.
Please does anyone have any advice for me?
Thanks
Dave

Sadly, yes, but none of it is good
Better place to ask is S-Type & S-Type R Supercharged V8 because there are lots of diesel owners on there. Just post essentially the same message
