Default Need Help Identifying a Broken Part (Pics Included)

Hey. I don't personally own this car, posting on my friend's behalf. We just found out a part on his 2003 V6 Jaguar S-Type was completely broke through - some hose that comes out of the engine. We don't know much about cars so I was hoping somebody here could help identify the part.

(I apologize for the quality of this first image, just found the picture of the engine itself online, saved it to paint and circled the part. there's no "full resolution")

This second image is actually taken from the car, showing the part itself.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Firstly, welcome to the real world of motoring.

The second snap will not open.

That looks like the Crankcase Breather hose from the Left bank camcover to the throttle body. From memory it is a straight hose of "about" 10mm ID, and would be simple fix for anyone. A piece of 10mm ID oil resistant hose will suffice.

Thanks for the welcome, and sorry about the picture, let's try this again.

I thought it looked like it was just a hose, but I wanted to be sure. It doesn't seem like any actual part is damaged. I'll be sure to let him know - It'll be much cheaper to get a hose than a whole new part that isn't even needed.

Must fit without any leak whatsoever, that's all.

Yep, clearer that mud this time.

That is the PCV connector, and YES it is a vac leak that the engine will HATE, and must be fixed NOW.

As said it must seal 100%.
