Default Need Help...Jaguar S-type won't shut off

I knocked my entire side mirror off my 2003 Jaguar S type V6. A few days later the alarm started going off randomly all night and day. Then I tried to turn the car off and it wouldn't shut completely off even with the key out of the ignition. Then two days after, the car wouldn't start at all but the lights were still on in the dash. I purchased a new battery and the car started up fine. 20 minutes later I tried starting it up again and it wouldn't start. When I tried removing the key, it was stuck and it wouldn't turn all the way off. Finally got the key out after several tries. Unhooked the battery and hooked it up again and the car started, but when I tried turning it off the engine was still running. So I drove a bit and parked it...now it's not starting again.

Error Codes on Dash

DSC not available
ABS Fault
Gearbox Fault
and just recently CAT System fault

Almost sounds like water in the trunk.

It hasn't show an ignition switch fault error yet. Just the codes mentioned above. If the problem is water in the trunk what would be the solution? Just dry it?

It sounds to me like it may be showing signs of a switch fault.

Search the forum for boot/trunk leaks there is a lot of info, but yes, your first move will be to dry it out, some people make holes in the floor under the spare, there are holes in the metal just covered with the lining that you can punch through.

Thank you all for replying. I will try drying the boot/trunk out and see what happens.

There's a round rubber plug on the floor that can be removed to let the water out, if that's what the issue is. Hopefully the computers and wiring have not been damaged.

If it's the ign switch you get weird things but the car does not know so cannot tell you it's the switch.
