Need some help.
Hey everyone, this is my first post on this website. I own a 2003 Jaguar S-Type V8 with the Alpine Speaker System, no navigation. I recently bought a Kenwood DDX371radio and went to a local shop to have it installed. I read a lot of good things about this place so I chose to go to them. They had my car for about 8 hours. They installed it all and then told me that it wasn't going to work! The screen lit up fine, the radio was perfectly installed but there was no sound. They said because of fiber optics the speakers were not going to work with the new radio and that I need to purchase a brand new speaker system if I want it to work. Is this true? Or are they trying to scam a young guy like me who doesn't have any knowledge of car radios and speakers. Could someone please help me? Is there an easier way to solve the sound problem??
I'd tell them to undo any work they've done and return the car to the way it was when I brought it to them. They should have known better IMHO than to start the work in the first place with a system that was not compatible.
