Default power train modual

Having a problem with my jag, having the car in storage for 18 month i decided to put it back on the road and since i have ive done around 200 miles over a weekend and when i came to start it, it flashed up fail safe mode and will not start, ive had a diagnostic test done and they tell me the power train modual is the fault. Which is a £1300 pound fix with jaguar main dealer,my problem is that i can pick the same car up for less money.....is there a cheaper option or a d.i.y solution so i dont have to lose my pride and joy?

Battery is #1 suspect. Have the battery load tested. Anything less than 12.5V is asking for trouble... Do this before investing any $

I would not waste my time testing the battery.

Get a new one and make sure it's correct. It needs a vent and hook up the tube.
