Can someone please tell me how to sync up my blackberry phone to my 2004 s-type. I read where my phone was compatible; however my Bluetooth didn't pick up a signal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you have the Bluetooth option in your Jag your not going to be able to sync your BB. Even if you have the phone button on the steering wheel, doesn't mean that you have bluetooth.

The quick check..... Do you have a microphone on the headliner next to the overhead console? Yes.. you have bluetooth, No.. You don't.

I believe the Bluetooth option in the S-Type in the U.S. was initially offered starting with the 2005 model year. You may be out of luck....

I have what looks to be a plastic piece under which a microphone should be. I don't have bluetooth, isn't it also for Jaguar Voice?

I would think that Bluetooth could be installed, but it may cost hundreds of dollars (or more) to do so. I believe forum member JOsworth has looked into this. Perhaps he'll elaborate....

My wife's 2005 S-Type has Bluetooth. Her 2004 Lexus RX330 does not. So she researched the issue, found a product called BlueAnt Supertooth 3 (a small device that clips onto the sunvisor directly over the drivers head), and ordered it through amazon.com for about $75. She's had it for a couple of weeks now and is satisfied thus far with its performance. Since it is small and portable, you can move it around from car to car. All in all, a very inexpensive way to be able to use Bluetooth in any vehicle. It does not use the car's stereo system - it has its own speakerphone.

I suggest you google it and check it out....

There are two modules that control the phone. One is the phone module. That is what connects the phone to the head unit (stereo). Then there is a bluetooth module that takes and connects a bluetooth phone to the phone module. To install both is something like $800 to $1,000 in parts new from Jaguar. There are round fittings in the headliner. These are not the microphone. The microphone is mounted on the surface of the headliner. The same microphone is used no matter if the car came with handsfree or it was installed as an accessory. I believe the round fittings in the headliner are for cabin temperature sensors. I just know that they aren't microphones. Neither are the circular openings in the overhead console itself. A little more thorough way to check for the phone equipment is to check for the modules themselves. The phone module should be mounted in the trunk behind the left side carpet (behind the changer, if so equipped). The bluetooth module would be mounted under the console box. Hope this answers some questions.

Oh, and another thing for Tlass68 to check. Do you have a plug and bracket on the underside of your console lid? If so, your car more than likely had the "handsfree" phone kit. That is basically the phone module I mentioned above. If that is the system, from what I'm told you would have to still replace both modules since the "older" phone modules don't work with the more modern bluetooth module.

LOL. Sorry JOsworth, but It seems I will have to buy the bluetooth package, my Jag has the handsfree kit. That sucks!!

Now I have to dip into my kids college fund and get it..LOL.

Sorry JOsworth /everybody, But................No luck. I have the handsfree kit.. So now I'm bumbed out!! I really like the idea of having the phone hooked up, but not sure if its worth the additional $$'s.

Yep that is correct, after futhur investigation I was wrong, that is definately not a casing for a microphone.
